Interactive Aquarium Wallpaper

An interactive aquarium behind your desktop icons: feed the fish, call the shark. For macOS 13 and later.

Using it

Look for the fish icon in the menu bar. The app has no window.
Feed the Fish drops food at your cursor. The default shortcut is ⌃⌥F, and you can change it in Settings…
Call the Shark, Pause and Launch at Login are in the same menu.
Sweep the cursor to startle the fish, or hold still and they come closer.

The aquarium pauses by itself when the desktop is covered, the display sleeps or the Mac locks, so it uses almost nothing while you work in full-screen apps.
On battery or in Low Power Mode it runs at a lower frame rate.
It appears on every connected display.

The aquarium looks frozen. Open the menu bar icon and choose Reload Aquarium, or check that Pause is not enabled.

The feed shortcut does nothing. Another app may be using the same keys. Pick a different shortcut in Settings…

Launch at Login won't turn on. Move the app to your Applications folder and try again.
